The Rules of this Wiki
General Use -- These rules apply everywhere on the DavisLARP wiki.
- Please register before posting/editing. Please use a real name or variant thereof (i.e., Erin) or an already commonly-used screenname. This wiki spans multiple games, so think really hard before committing yourself to forever being known as a particular character.
- Be bold! Don't be afraid to contribute! These pages only grow with everyone's help! If you make a mistake, don't worry; there are plenty of people to help make it right.
- Be considerate! Everybody makes mistakes; don't harp on others. Don't start edit wars -- if you have Serious Disagreements about a page, take it to talk.
- Use wiki syntax when editing. This makes it easier for the people who come in to edit after you. There are a few buttons above the text box, but a longer list can be found in Help:Formatting on MediaWiki.
- Note your changes in the Summary box. This also helps the editors who come after you, as they don't spend hours trying to figure out what typo you fixed.
Out-of-Character Information -- These rules apply to meta-information regarding games. This information is not used in character (and typically is not applicable). This may include data such as who ran a game and where.
In-Character Information -- These rules apply to information specific to each game that is or can be known and used by the characters, in-character.
- The main body of each page is for relatively well-known facts. The main body of each page should be objective. Widely-held opinions are permissible if it is known fact that it is a widely-held opinion (for example: "George is an asshole" is not fact. "Miriam considers George to be an asshole" may, in fact, be fact). Use common sense.
- Opinions and subjective comments belong in the Rumours section of the page. You may post anything your character might say in the Rumors section of the page. These Rumors must be signed and dated and other characters will know these are your opinions. If you want to post an anonymous rumor in some way, contact a staff member with your methods. If they agree then they will post it anonymously with an appropriate source (i.e. "spray-painted outside the bank").
